A personal reflection tool

Kaen provides guided reflection, a journal, breathing prompts, reminders, and tools for considering decisions and next steps. Its trends summarize your own entries and are not a clinical assessment. Decision Compass organizes options you enter; it does not make decisions or provide professional advice.

Kaen is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Kaen is not a substitute for professional care or an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Using Kaen

Use Kaen lawfully and protect access to your device and any connected storage accounts. Do not misuse the service or infringe another person's rights. You remain responsible for the decisions and actions you take after using the app.

Features may differ by platform and version. Reminders depend on notification permission, device availability, and operating-system scheduling and battery settings. Delivery can be delayed or prevented; do not use Kaen for critical or emergency alerts.

Your writing and backups

Your journal content remains yours. The current app stores it locally and can read or write copies through the export, import, and optional sync features you choose. The Privacy Policy explains this handling, including system backups and older account-based releases.

Keep an appropriate backup before deleting data, changing devices, or clearing app storage. Sync depends on your provider and may be delayed or unavailable. Exported files and older copies are not automatically erased when you delete a local entry or disconnect sync. Protect these files and manage their retention through your provider.

Kaen Ember

The core reset and journal can be used without buying Ember. Ember is an optional one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. Its available features, price, and applicable taxes are shown before purchase.

Purchases, payment processing, refund eligibility, and restoration are governed by the store where you purchased. Restore with the same store account. Purchases do not automatically transfer between Google Play and Apple's App Store. A one-time purchase means there is no recurring subscription charge; it is not a promise that the app or a particular platform will be supported forever.

Features may evolve, subject to applicable consumer rights. Nothing in these terms removes a refund, remedy, or other right that cannot legally be excluded.

Ownership and third-party services

You retain rights in the writing you create. Kaen's branding, software, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party and open-source materials remain subject to their respective licenses.

App stores, operating systems, file providers, and linked websites are separate services with their own terms. Their availability and behavior can affect purchases, backups, sync, and notifications. On Apple platforms, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a different license is provided through the App Store.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep Kaen reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or a particular personal outcome. The app and website may be updated, interrupted, or discontinued, subject to applicable law and your consumer rights.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kaen is provided as available without additional warranties. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights where doing so is prohibited by law.

Changes and contact
